Migration and Integration Council (MIR)

More than half of all Kreuzlingen residents do not have a Swiss passport.

They are therefore not entitled to vote. The Migration and Integration Council gives these residents a vote. Through the Migration and Integration Council, a city council commission, the foreign population has the opportunity to submit their concerns and suggestions directly to the city council. Conversely, there is the possibility of consulting the foreign population in the sense of a consultation.

The tasks of the commission are to implement the goals set out in the municipal mission statement "Integration Policy Kreuzlingen" and to organise and carry out integration projects. The maximum number of members is nine. The city council commission is chaired by the city president.

Citizens with a Swiss passport (with a migration background) can also apply for membership of the commission. The guidelines of the Migration and Integration Council contain details on the purpose and organisation.
